Killens Pond State Park in Felton was originally developed as a mill and the Murderkill River was damned to form the pond in the late 1700's. The State of Delaware's Division of Parks and Recreation acquired the property and it became a state park in 1965. As Park Planner, Mr. Lane served as project manager for several site amenities. These include the design of camping cabins and a new pedestrian bridge over the river on the north side of the park and a water park and pool on the south side of the park.

As Park Planner for the State of Delaware's Division of Parks and Recreation, Mr. Lane collaborated with Engineering and Landscape Architectural firms to assist with the planning, design and the construction management of three new Greenways in Delaware. At Bellevue State Park, the project scope for the mile-long section of the Northern Delaware Greenway included interpretation, new signage and landscaping.

At Brandywine Creek State Park, as Park Planner, Mr. Lane worked with Duffield Associates Consulting Engineers on the 1.5 mile long section of the Northern Delaware Greenway. The project scope included identification of rare plants and cultural resources, interpretation, bridge rehabilitation, accessibility, parking and renovation to the existing pathway and extension of the trail under Thompson Station Road bridge. The creek flood waters wash over the pathway and handrail.
