Michael E. Lane

Michael's work experience includes architectural, engineering, planning and landscape architectural firms, federal government and state parks.  Using this broad base of knowledge, he established his own consulting firm.  

 

 

Practice Profile

 

Hillspring Design Studio provides planning and design services for all phases of Landscape Design.  By combining a thorough knowledge of design principles, construction details, ecological processes and horticulture, thoughtful and creative design solutions are developed for each unique environment.

 

Michael has over 30 years of experience with a broad range of projects from academic institutions, park and open space planning and design, residential and commercial land development, historic landscape restoration, private gardens, grant writing and project administration.  He has collaborated with other design professionals including architects, planners, engineers, lighting designers and sculptors.

 

 

Community/Professional Affiliations

 

 

Mr. Lane is an active member within his community and has served on several boards in Pennsbury Township, PA.  He was past Secretary & Chair and a member of the Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway Commission; was on the Trails Committee; was on the Planning Commission 2003-2011; Open Space Review Board 2004-2012; Pennsbury Land Trust & Liaison for the Brandywine Battlefield Task Force 2010-2012.  He also volunteered at Longwood Gardens and is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Hardy Plant Society.
